Our staff spotlight this week is on the legendary, or should I say infamous, Chuck Harris! Chuck is a 1972 graduate of Dalton High School where he played football. He went on to play at the University of Georgia where he was a two year letterman and a member of the 1976 SEC Championship team. He graduated from UGA in 1976. He later graduated from New Orleans Baptist Seminary in 1980. His lovely wife Debra is a retired teacher from Dalton Public Schools. He has four wonderful children, Rachel, Caleb, James, and Mary Campbell. Chuck is involved in so many different ministries in our community! Our new FCA staff member had the chance to speak to the Christian Heritage wrestling team yesterday about the mental side of sports. Rick offers training with a biblical approach to mental performance for our local teams!

Our FCA huddle at Dalton State has been going great! They meet on Tuesdays at 12:30 next to the dining hall. If you are a student at DSC, they would love to see you there!

We are thankful that FCA was invited to be a part of the Soccertown USA state championship celebration tonight! Rick Reed from FCA opened the event with prayer tonight!

It’s been a great two days so far at FCA Wrestling Camp! We are so thankful for what the ministry of FCA Wrestling does for this sport in Georgia!

The FCA ”Home Team” Banquet was a huge success last night! Thank you to everyone that came out to support! Thanks also to Coach Rodney Hennon for being our guest speaker! Our FCA staff, board members and volunteers were amazing! We are honored to do ministry in this community!

It’s been a great week of ministry! The father/son FCA Outdoors duck hunt was a hit and Winter Recharge was amazing! we are so thankful for the way God is using FCA to do His will!

Fields of Faith was such an encouraging event tonight! We have some wonderful student leaders in our community! Their spiritual maturity and love for Jesus was so evident as we all listened to them share their hearts. Thank you to everyone that came out! We live in a great community and our future is in good hands with young men and women like we heard tonight! Praise the Lord!

Fields of Faith has been rescheduled for next week. It will be on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7PM at the Southeast High School Football field.

We had a great time at our Whitfield County FCA Character Coach luncheon on Monday! Thanks to everyone that came out and to the Tunnel Hill Depot for a beautiful venue! It’s going to be a great year!

We had a fantastic time today at the Northwest GA FCA Team Softball Camp! Thanks to all of the players, coaches, fans, staff, and volunteers that made it a success! Also a big thanks for the Whitfield County Recreation Dept. for once again taking great care of us and for partnering with us all summer at several events. We appreciate you!

We had a great time at our FCA Baseball/Softball First Pitch Dinner! Thank you Mitchell Boggs for speaking tonight to our players and families!

We had a great day today at our FCA Baseball Camp! I would like to thank several of our local school coaches( Todd Middleton, Brian Harrison , Chad Ikerd, Justin Dover, Grant Sane, Jordan Williams)FCA coaches, (Johnathon Taylor, Mark Beckler, Dylan Massengill) and some other guys(Navy Gazaway, Cameron Collins, Jackson Beckler) for leading the instruction. Yet another great example of our local community members taking time out of their day to support the ministry of FCA! Chuck Harris delivered a fantastic Gospel message to the boys and Dr. DJ Goss from AOSM came out and spoke to the parents to end the day.

It has been an amazing week so far in Curitiba serving alongside my FCA bothers and sisters! God has used this group to open doors for our FCA staff in Brazil for future ministry. It’s an honor to be a part of it! Please continue to pray for us! We have two more days! There’s been a lot of Jesus, baseball, food and coffee this week!

We had a great evening in our area tonight at two different Fields Of Faith events in Murray and Whitfield Counties! There were over 1000 students in attendance and over 20 salvations between the two events last night!!! Students from all of our local high schools shared their faith and Scripture and challenged all of us to get deeper into the Word. As Coahulla Creek student Will Douglas said during his testimony, “Tonight we are not Bruins, Colts, Catamounts, Lions or Raiders, we are all children of God! Amen!! We are so thankful for all of our local churches that brought their youth groups to one of our events this evening and for everyone else that attended. God is good!

We had a wonderful day of fun and fellowship at our first FCA Outdoors Day at Silver Shoot Ranch! Thank you Gary Patton for taking such great care of us! He was an amazing host and instructor! Thanks to Ken Brown for cooking an excellent lunch for all of us! Thanks to Jason Raughton for coming up big with some Boss Truck Outfitters caps for everyone! Thanks to Brad Dixon at Jack’s Pawn and Gun and Academy Sports for donating some great door prizes. Thank you to Jana Howells Cansler, James Tyson, and Brandon Combs for helping organize the event! What a great group of young ladies! FCA was able to speak with the Westside Middle School volleyball team tonight after practice. Good luck this season girls!

As wonderful as an Arnold Palmer is on a hot day these Southeast cheerleaders know that nothing compares to the love of God!

We had a great turnout at our FCA Pastor’s Appreciation Luncheon today at the Tunnel Hill Depot! Thank you to Selling North Georgia Realty and Michael Williams for providing the food today and the city of Tunnel Hill for the wonderful venue. Delicious brisket from Jake Brooker, potato salad and banana pudding from the Oakwood and baked beans from Momma Middleton make for a great combo! There were 11 churches represented by 20 pastors and youth pastors from around the community there today! Thank you all for coming and supporting FCA! I can’t wait for these partnerships to come together!

The Valley Point and Westside Middle School Middle School FCA Leadership Teams did a fantastic job today going through huddle leader training today!

We had the pleasure of feeding the football coaching staff at Southeast some delicious TK Wingz after a great win this past Friday night! Great job!

The Whitfield Murray Fca Golf tournament was a hit today! I’m thankful for all of the volunteers, golfers and sponsors! As always, the staff at The Farm did an excellent job today as well. Praise God for good weather. We had great fellowship and great competition! Congrats to the winners and to Dan Peeples for making a hole in one on #8 and winning $20,000! It was a great day!

The football team from Southeast along with some “Future Raiders” enjoyed some watermelon and Jesus after a hot practice last night! The only way to truly experience watermelon is by eating it, by getting it in you! Rubbing it in your arm or in your hair won’t do the trick. Looking at it won’t do the trick. The same is true for Jesus. In order to truly experience Jesus He has to live inside of you!

There’s nothing better than watermelon and the Gospel after a long day of football practice! Salvation is free and so was watermelon tonight at Christian Heritage! We had a great time with the CHS football team this evening!

These Southeast Whitfield football players were getting after in a little friendly competition just before our team talk tonight!

We are thrilled to announce that Coach Billy Napier will be the guest speaker at our annual FCA Home Team Celebration Dinner on Feb. 8 at the Dalton Trade and Convention Center! Coach Napier is a Chatsworth, GA native and currently the head football coach for the University Of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns. Look for more info on this event in the coming months!

We had a fantastic day of ministry yesterday in our community! Ricky Townsend and Mandy Ledford shared the Gospel yesterday morning at a middle school 7 on 7 day. Jamey Middleton was able to speak to the football team at Southeast yesterday as well. We also had a Gospel presentation at our FCA Braves Baseball tryout last night! All in all over 125 students heard the Gospel message and 5 students prayed to receive Christ! We are blessed to be used by God in our community!

FCA is thankful for people like Eric Duffy that are willing to share their hearts and their story to impact young people for Christ!

Ricky Townsend spoke to over 200 high school football players from all over North GA this morning! Thanks be to God!

We had a great time at our mini FCA Coaches Camp this week!

Our 11U and 12U FCA Braves teams had a great time at Shipyard Park this past week! We are blessed to have coaches that pour into these boys and teach them about Jesus and baseball!

Mandy Ledford and Brooke Young are serving as huddle leader coordinators at the FCA Girl’s Team Basketball Camp this week at Emmanuel College! Keep them in your prayers!

Our 10U and 14U FCA Lady Braves had a fun day of softball in their tournaments today. Great job girls!

The annual FCA Baseball Camp went great today! I would like to thank everyone that donated their time to help out today! Erin Middleton and Sydney Lavelle did a fantastic job with registration and getting the campers to the right field to start things off. We had several high school coaches from our area come out to give excellent instruction to these guys. It’s great to see coaches from schools all over our area come together. Coaches from Coahulla Creek, North Murray, Dalton High, Northwest and Christian Heritage represented their schools well today! We are fortunate that all of the baseball coaches in our area are friends and enjoy working together. We were also very fortunate to have Dr. Nick Reed come out and speak with the parents about arm care. Chuck Harris finished out the day with an excellent Gospel presentation. I would also like to thanks the DPRD and WCRD for always being willing to partner with FCA. We are so lucky to live in a community full of people that are willing to donate their time for a great cause. Parents, thanks for bringing your sons out for a great day of baseball!

The FCA Baseball camp on Saturday has been relocated to Heritage Point Park in Dalton, GA. The fields at Edwards Park were vandalized last night. It’s still from 11-3 and it will be in the upper fields. Please help spread the word!
